1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the MyRomi mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
If you are under 18, you must have a parent or guardian's permission to use MyRomi. Users under 13 may not create their own account. Church administrators may create shadow profiles for children under 13 as part of church membership records, but these do not grant independent app access. Users ages 13–17 may create accounts with parental consent.
2. Description of Service
MyRomi is a subscription-based community platform for churches and faith-based organizations that provides:
- Church membership management and member directories
- Event creation, RSVPs, attendance tracking, and QR-based check-in
- Special event management (retreats, conferences, camps) with registration, payments, teams, schedules, and logistics
- Ministry team coordination and assignment management
- Direct and group messaging with channels
- Prayer room for community prayer requests
- HeartNote daily devotionals and reflections
- MaiRomi AI-powered spiritual Q&A grounded in Coptic Orthodox texts (optional paid feature)
- Custom forms and data collection
- Church announcements and notifications
3. Subscriptions and Billing
MyRomi is a paid service billed at the church level. Individual members do not pay — the church subscribes on behalf of its community. Subscription plans determine member limits, ministry limits, and admin seat limits.
- All subscription payments are processed through Stripe via an external web browser — not through in-app purchases
- Churches may choose monthly or annual billing
- Plan changes, cancellations, and payment method updates are managed through the Stripe Customer Portal
- Refund policies for subscriptions follow Stripe's standard terms
Event registration payments (for special events like retreats and conferences) are separate from subscription billing and are also processed through Stripe.
4. Account Registration
To use MyRomi, you must create an account with a valid email address. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use MyRomi in a manner consistent with its purpose as a church community platform. You agree not to:
- Post content that is hateful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or obscene
- Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
- Use the App for commercial solicitation, advertising, or spam
- Upload malware, viruses, or any harmful code
- Attempt to access accounts or data belonging to other users
- Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the App by automated means
- Circumvent or interfere with the App's security features
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
6. User Content
You retain ownership of content you create on MyRomi (messages, prayer requests, photos, form responses, etc.). By posting content, you grant MyRomi a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and transmit that content to other authorized users as part of the App's functionality.
You are solely responsible for content you post. Church administrators and ministry leaders may moderate content within their communities.
7. Prayer Room
The Prayer Room allows you to share prayer requests with your church community. You may post anonymously. By posting a prayer request, you understand that:
- Visible requests can be seen by members of your church community based on your chosen visibility settings
- Other users may indicate they are praying for your request
- Church leaders may have visibility into requests for pastoral care purposes
8. Payments
Certain features (such as special event registration) may require payment. Payments are processed securely through Stripe in an external browser. By making a payment, you agree to:
- Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
- Provide accurate payment information
- Pay any applicable fees for services or event registrations
Refund policies for event registrations are determined by individual churches and event organizers. Contact the relevant church for refund requests.
9. MaiRomi AI Feature
MaiRomi is an optional, subscription-based AI feature that allows users to ask spiritual questions and receive answers grounded in curated Coptic Orthodox texts. By using MaiRomi, you agree to the following:
- AI-Generated Content — MaiRomi responses are generated by artificial intelligence models (including Claude, GPT, and Gemini) augmented with curated Coptic Orthodox source material. While answers are grounded in authentic texts and include source citations, they are not a substitute for pastoral guidance, theological counsel, or official church teaching.
- Accuracy — We make reasonable efforts to ensure AI responses are faithful to their cited sources. However, AI-generated content may contain errors or misinterpretations. Users should verify important information with their clergy or trusted spiritual advisors.
- Subscription — MaiRomi requires a separate monthly subscription ($2/month after an introductory $1 first month). Subscriptions are processed through Stripe and can be canceled at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Content Ownership — Your questions and conversation history belong to you. AI-generated responses are provided for your personal spiritual use and may not be republished commercially without permission.
- Privacy — Your MaiRomi conversations are private. We do not share your questions or conversation history with your church, other users, or third parties (except AI providers for processing, without personal identifiers). See our Privacy Policy for details on how AI queries are handled.
- Availability — AI model availability may change over time. We may add, remove, or update available models. The MaiRomi feature may be modified or discontinued with reasonable notice.
10. Church Administration
Church administrators have elevated permissions within their church community, including the ability to:
- View member profiles (subject to privacy visibility settings)
- Manage events, ministries, announcements, and forms
- Track attendance and member engagement
- Moderate content and manage chat channels
- Import and manage member records
- Manage church subscription and billing
Church administrators are responsible for using these tools in accordance with applicable laws and their church's own policies.
11. Privacy
Your use of MyRomi is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
12. Intellectual Property
The MyRomi App, including its design, code, logo, and branding, is the intellectual property of MyRomi LLC and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our written permission.
13. Availability and Changes
We strive to keep MyRomi available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:
- Modify, update, or discontinue features at any time
- Perform maintenance that temporarily limits availability
- Update these Terms with reasonable notice through the App
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Disclaimers
MyRomi is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.
MyRomi is a platform for church communities. We are not responsible for the content, actions, or decisions of individual users, churches, or their leadership. MaiRomi AI-generated responses are not a substitute for pastoral guidance or official church teaching.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyRomi LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or personal injury.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MyRomi LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of California.
18. Termination
You may stop using MyRomi at any time by deleting the App and deleting your account (Settings → Account → Delete Account). We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to other users or the community.
